Character Summary

Zack (currently aged 31), born human, now a werewolf, is a member of the influential first gen and entered into the "Inner Circle" by marriage. He is perhaps the poster boy for the Forgotten Husbands and known for being reserved, level-headed, extremely British, and occasionally sarcastic. He is generally regarded to be a Good Guy.

Early Years

Zack Gallagher was born on October 16, 1976 in southern England to his parents, Robin and Hugh Gallagher. He had one brother, Blake, who was two years younger than him. I suspect they had cats.

Zack's childhood remained remarkably uneventful until 1987, when Robin and Hugh were killed in a car accident. Orphaned, Zack and Blake went to live with an uncle until a few years later, when Blake was killed in a school shooting. Dropping out of high school, Zack moved into his own place, and presumably changed his name to Avery, shortening 'Gallagher' to G. He claims this was due to his being slightly ashamed of the Gallaghers
[1], but that seems surprisingly snobby for Zack, so it has been hypothesized (just now) that he did this to try and escape the haunting memory of his family, or something to that extent. It's unknown what he did or how he made a living in the intervening years, but he must have done something, because in the summer of 2002, he was on a greyhound bus trip to a city outside Crunksville, at which point Sangy Red, having just acquired her time-travelling powers and been learning to control them, timeslipped in and switched his ticket for one that would take him straight onto the island[2]. There he met Misty Kazz on July 19[3], in a department store while playing on the escalators. They bonded over their love of Weezer and decided to go on a date. Soon afterwards, within days, young Marissa Bell decided that Cedric, her friend and Misty's son, needed a father figure, so she persuaded her mother Jess to poof a love spell on Zack and Misty. It worked. Zack proposed on the spot and moved in soon after. Misty was pregnant almost instantly. They were married in Texas on August 23, 2002, and his first children, Brendan Jacob and Megalynn Crystal Avery, were born shortly after the cake was cut[4]. It's worth noting that Zack had no idea at the time after whom his oldest son was named.

Life With Misty

Zack - Crunksville
Misty and Zack being happy
After their wedding, Zack and Misty moved into their new, rather large house, which Jess had built for them. Zack then began to realize exactly what life with Misty entailed. Or, to put it bluntly, how bloody nuts she was. The beginning of their marriage was rife with arguments over various and sundry petty things. Some of them even became rather infamous. One such example is the "The sink is blue and we're not talking about it" discussion, in which Misty somehow discoloured the surface of the sink, and Zack, being the wiley fellow he is, knew that his asking her about it would inevitably lead to "Well maybe, just maybe, if you'd clean the sink every once in a while", so he refused to say anything about the matter. Another incident, a fight over whether or not they should buy new sofas, ended in Zack (possibly) joking that he had drawn a chalk line through the house to separate his side from Misty's, adding, "The fridge is on my side. So is God."[5] Zack later received a response to this from Eru himself[6].

But perhaps the most famous of all these is the time that Misty tried to trade Zack to Sangy for a teapot. It was a really nice teapot, though.

As if all that wasn't enough, Zack also had the stress of being a new parent to deal with, especially when Meg grew up into a teenager and fell in passionately idiotic teenaged love with Taren Greenleaf. His attempts at keeping them apart, combined with his frequent fights with Misty and the fact that they just kept right on popping out children - their next kid, Eva Marie, was born on October 13th, though her twin Chris Kahlua was sadly a stillborn - meant essentially that he had his will to live squeezed slowly out of him. But he fought the good fight. So much so that in later October, Taren and Meg decided (possibly with the aid/encouragement of Misty, who alternated rapidly between approving and disapproving of their relationship?) to fake their breakup. Misty then hired a crazy man to go on a few dates with Meg so that Zack would see that Taren wasn't so bad after all. Apparently it worked because they got back together a mere five days later. There was some other plot here I think, Zack may have tried to kill Taren or something? I don't know, I'm doing a bit of revisionist history here because everything I did in this RP up until about two or three years ago was horrifically bad.

At any rate, their life chugged along at its usual breakneck speed. Their next child, Daniel Bacardi-Silver Avery, was born with health issues and spent a few days in the IC-U before coming home. Chris was also brought back to life. Then Taren went nuts after he got hit in the head with a football and went on a killing spree. Zack was among his victims, so that kind of sucks.

Later that spring, Chris went inexplicably evil and there were orcs and stuff, it was kind of a mess, and anyway a very pregnant Zack got kidnapped. Alyson Marie Avery was born in captivity on April 1st, 2003, followed shortly thereafter by Rufus Magoo Avery on April 24th. Zack appears to have been turned into a werewolf at some point in between, which was an attempt of Misty to 'save' him from an evil werewolf plot she knew was coming up. Then nothing interesting happened (there appears to have been a killing spree but I don't think it directly affected Zack) until June 23rd when Cruor Branigan Mutiny and Tsunami Sunkist Avery were born.

Then, that August, Misty had a fit of insecurity. She found herself thinking improper thoughts about neighbourhood hottie Serge Took-Dawkins and, when she came a little too close to crossing some lines with him, panicked and split up with Zack to push those lines a little further away. Then she got brainwashed by evil penguins and killed him. But, she still figured out it was them and went off to tell those dirty soandsos off, and on the way there she gave birth to Asphyxiation Mile-Marker 52 and Jane Kahlua Avery, having gotten knocked up by Zack before their split. Then she admitted utter stupidity and made up with him on October 10th, and they got right back on the horse and had Francisco Eggers and Antonio Toph Avery on December 4th of that year.

Life went on as usual. Misty got pregnant. On February 29th, days after Zack, sweaty and shirtless, hammered nails into a wall for Sangy, Kooky Caffeine Carbonated and Funk Advanced Audio-In Avery were born. About a month later, Misty and Zack had a slightly large and fairly public
